Overview
You can use Duve’s “Customized Shortcuts” feature to create a button inside the Duve Guest App (or Duve Guest App post) that links directly to your hotel’s Sweeply Guest Connect page. This gives the guest a seamless experience: from the Duve app or portal they tap a shortcut and are taken to the relevant Sweeply Guest Connect page, pre-populated with their room information via template variables.
The guest link template for Sweeply is:
https://app.getsweeply.com/guest/<sweeplyHotelKey>/login?roomName={{propertyName}}&lastName={{guestLastName}}&checkinDate={{checkInDate}}
Where:
<sweeplyHotelKey> is your Sweeply-provided identifier for the hotel.
{{propertyName}}, {{guestLastName}}, {{checkInDate}} are template variables supported by Duve and will be substituted by Duve with the actual values for that guest.
You may choose to add more parameters if Sweeply supports them (check your Sweeply setup).
Benefits
Reduces friction: One tap inside Duve and the guest is taken into the Guest Connect page.
Higher adoption of Guest Connect features (housekeeping preferences, maintenance issues) from guests already using Duve.
Keeps your guest-experience flow within the Duve ecosystem but leveraging Sweeply’s guest service tools.
Prerequisites
Your property must have Guest Connect enabled in Sweeply (see Sweeply “Guest Connect Set-up” article).
You must have access to the Duve Guest App Builder and the Customised Shortcuts feature.
You must know the correct <sweeplyHotelKey> for your property in Sweeply.
In Duve you should have the template variables enabled (e.g., {{guestLastName}}, {{checkInDate}}, {{propertyName}}) so that dynamic substitution works. Duve supports template variables for its posts and links.
Step-by-step setup
1. In Sweeply: confirm the hotel key
If not already enabled reach out to Sweeply's team to enable Guest Connect and receive the key and link.
Example: if your key is hotel1234, then your link will be:
https://app.getsweeply.com/guest/hotel1234/login?roomName={{propertyName}}&lastName={{guestLastName}}&checkinDate={{checkInDate}}
2. In Duve: create a new custom Shortcut
In Duve, go to Guest App Builder → Styles → Shortcuts.
Click Add Shortcut.
Configure the fields:
Name: Something like “Guest Page”, “Manage Your Stay”, “Service Requests” etc.
Icon: Choose an icon from the Duve library that fits the guest action.
Action Type: Choose URL (external link) since we’re linking to Sweeply.
URL: Paste the link built above:
https://app.getsweeply.com/guest/<sweeplyHotelKey>/login?roomName={{propertyName}}&lastName={{guestLastName}}&checkinDate={{checkInDate}}
Open in new tab: Enable if you want the link to open in a new browser tab, preserving the Duve app in background.
(Optionally) Set Conditions to control when the Shortcut appears (e.g., only after check-in, only specific room types, only certain guest segments).
Save and publish.
3. Test the integration
Create a test reservation (or use a live guest link with anonymised data).
In the Duve Guest App, verify that the Shortcut appears (based on your condition settings).
Tap the Shortcut: it should redirect to the Sweeply Guest Connect login page, pre-populated with the correct room name/property name, guest last name, and check-in date from the Duve reservation.
Verify the Guest Connect page works: guest can submit service requests, housekeeping preferences, maintenance reports etc.
4. Roll-out and guest communication
Let your team know about the new Shortcut and embed it in your guest-journey communications (arrival email, SMS).
Consider adding an onboarding message inside the Duve Guest App (or arrival email) highlighting:
“Need towels, request a cleaning, or report something? Tap the ‘Manage Your Stay’ button.”
Ensure housekeeping & maintenance teams in Sweeply are ready to handle incoming requests. (See Sweeply configuration page.)
Monitor adoption: track how many guests click the Shortcut and submit on Guest Connect.
Troubleshooting & tips
Shortcut not visible: Check the condition settings (timing, guest filters) in Duve. Also ensure you haven’t exceeded the 4-Custom-Shortcut limit per property.
Template variables not substituted: Make sure the variables (e.g., {{guestLastName}}, {{checkInDate}}) are supported in your Duve account and that the reservation has the relevant data. If the variable is empty, the link might fail or prompt guest input.
Wrong hotel key: The sweeplyHotelKey must match exactly your Sweeply property identifier. A wrong key will lead to a login or page-not-found error.
Guest still needs to login manually: If the Sweeply page still asks for last name / room number although you passed parameters, check with Sweeply support whether auto-login parameters are supported and correctly processed.
Condition visibility delay: If you set the Shortcut to appear only after check-in, guests arriving early may not see it. Adjust the timing as appropriate (Duve allows days/weeks before or after check-in).
Multiple brands/properties: If you manage several properties under one Duve account (brands) and several in Sweeply, you will need to create a separate Shortcut per property key or use conditions/tags accordingly.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I use more template variables in the URL?
A: Yes—Duve supports a range of dynamic parameters (guest name, booking date, room name etc.). Check the Duve dynamic parameter library in the Guest App builder for all available variables.
Q: How many custom shortcuts can I have in Duve?
A: You may create up to 4 custom Shortcuts per property.
Q: Can I hide other Duve built-in shortcuts (e.g., WiFi, Access Codes) so my Sweeply-link shortcut stands out?
A: Yes — in Duve you can go to “Manage Duve Shortcuts” and unselect built-in shortcuts.
Q: Can the Sweeply link open directly inside Duve (without leaving the app)?
A: While Duve opens external URLs in a new tab by default, you may choose “Open in new tab” in the shortcut settings — this launches the link outside the Duve frame. Native embedding may depend on Sweeply’s login behaviour.
Q: What if guests don’t have the correct check-in date or last name data filled?
A: If one or more parameters are blank or mismatch, the guest may be prompted to manually enter room number or other details inside Sweeply. It’s recommended to test various scenarios (late check-in, changed guest name) so you can mitigate friction.
Summary
By setting up a custom shortcut in Duve that links to your Sweeply Guest Connect page, you streamline the guest’s journey and encourage adoption of self-service features (housekeeping scheduling, maintenance reporting etc.). With the right configuration, you’ll offer a polished, one-tap experience for your guests and increase operational efficiency on your side.
