Registering a linen change requested at reception

Mark a guest’s linen change request on an opt-in housekeeping day, so housekeeping sees the linen icon on the room and the change is counted in your reports.

Before you start: your hotel is using Sweeply with the opt-in (optional housekeeping) policy turned on. New to opt-in? See Registering opt-in dates in Sweeply.

When a guest asks reception for a linen change, opting them in for cleaning isn't enough on its own. You also need to set the rule for that day, so housekeeping knows to change the linen.

Step 1: Opt the day in for cleaning

Open the unit from the Housekeeping board and scroll down to the Cleaning Schedule. Click the day the guest wants service so it turns pink (Clean).

Step 2: Click the pencil above the day

A small pencil icon appears above each day that's opted in. Click it to open the Rules window.

Step 3: Select the linen change rule and confirm

In the Rules window, select the rule that includes a linen change (for example Cleaning every 3 days). It appears at the bottom of the window. Click Confirm.

What happens next

The day now shows the linen icon 🛏️ instead of the regular cleaning icon 🧹. Housekeeping sees the icon on the room when they make assignments, so they know the guest wants fresh linen. The linen change is also counted correctly in your reports.

FAQ

I picked the wrong rule. How do I fix it?

Click the pencil again, remove the rule with the X at the bottom of the window, select the correct one and click Confirm.

Which rule should I choose?

Rule names depend on how your property is set up. Pick the one that includes a linen change. If you're not sure which one that is, ask your housekeeping manager or contact us through the chat.
